Who is eligible for assistance?
How do I receive food?
Visit us during regular distribution hours. You will receive food the same day.

- Mondays 10 am-1 pm
- Tuesdays 12 pm – 3 pm
- Wednesdays 10 am-1 pm
- Saturdays 9 am-12 pm
(Appointment only after your first visit.)
What information do I need to bring to sign up for assistance?
In order to receive assistance, the following guidelines must be followed:
- You must have a Photo ID.
- Bring proof of residence for all adults (18+) in the household. Proof of residence can be any mail received within the last 3 months or a lease agreement.
You must complete an application once per year and/or notify the Pantry of any changes to your household information.
How often can I receive food?
Thanks to the kindness of generous supporters, we are currently providing food to those in need once per week during our drive-through distribution. We provide traditional food units and bonus bread/produce units on a rotating, weekly basis.

Do you provide utility assistance?
We currently participate in the TXU Energy Aid Program. Eligible clients can receive assistance through this program one time per calendar year. Please fill out the form under ‘TXU Energy Aide Application’ on the site. We will contact you within 5 days of your submission.
Do you provide rent assistance?
How do I sign up to volunteer?
Families, individuals, business groups, team building, churches, youth groups, clubs, student organizations and other supporters are so important to us. We need assistance sorting & stocking our food pantry, cleaning, completing clerical work, and so much more.

What kinds of things can I donate?
We can only accept non-perishable items or fresh produce. Please Note: Donated items must be within date.
- Cold Cereal
- Canned Soup
- Canned Protein (tuna, chili, chicken, etc)
- Personal products (lotion, soap, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, feminine hygiene)
- Household products (cleaning supplies, detergents, etc)
- Paper products (toilet paper, tissue, paper towels)
- Baby products: diapers, wipes and baby food/formula
Donations are received Monday through Saturday 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

How do I host a food drive and donate food?
Hosting a drive is the perfect way to partner with Cedar Hill Shares and join the fight against hunger. When it comes to feeding families, your drive is an easy way to collect non-perishable food items and make a difference in the lives of the families we serve. Gather your corporation, community organization or family and friends to help coordinate and collect items on a larger scale!

How do I make a financial contribution?
Your financial gifts help Cedar Hill Shares provide meals in our community all year long.
Donating online is secure and private.
You are also welcome to mail contributions to P.O. Box 2694, Cedar Hill, TX 75106.
Every dollar donated provides three meals!

Food distribution hours are Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 am-1 pm and Saturdays from 9 am-12 pm. We currently offer service by appointment only.
In order to receive assistance, the following guidelines must be followed:
- You must have a current photo I.D.
- You must be able to provide proof of residency verifying that your address is within the 75104 zip code or within CHISD boundaries.
- You must supply verbal verification of income for all individuals living in the household (documentation not required).
- You must provide the names and dates of birth for all household members.
- We also ask that you provide both a phone number and email address on your application.
